A three-night trip to the beautiful Southern Gulf Islands.

The Southern Gulf Islands have many possible destinations and on this trip we will consult with the group to choose between the following options based around the current working plan.

Take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo
Launch from Elliots Beach near Ladysmith and paddle to Wallace Island Campsite (9.7km, 3-4 hrs paddling in good weather).
Use Wallace Island as a base to explore area on day trip paddles

We will depart from Vancouver early Tuesday morning and return Friday evening, with a possibility to decide to extend through Saturday evening based on conditions and group preference.
Cars are needed to transport kayaks to the ferry terminal and to/from launch point on Vancouver Island.

Please indicate how many kayaks you can carry.

Pre-requisites: Checked out for kayak fleet, moderate fitness, practiced rescues in the last 12 months. Although the area is sheltered you should be comfortable paddling in wind up to 15 knots.
