Club Locarno's Kayaking Fleet

We have built up a fleet of  kayaks that will accommodate the recreational evening paddler through to the endurance or expedition paddler.  We have a wide range of shapes and sizes, to suit different bodies and different levels of ability, from novice to expert.  Whether you're more interested in an evening paddle to watch the sun set, or a multi day expedition off the west coast, you should find your ideal boat in our fleet. 

Almost our of our kayaks are lightweight, fibreglass composite construction.  We have a mix of doubles and singles, and a mix of rudders and skegs.  We also have high performance surfskis for paddlers with a competitive edge.

Kayak Fleet

Atlantis Titan VI

Large and stable, a great boat for longer trips, and bigger paddlers.  Rudder

Atlantis Mist Sport

Ideal for the smaller paddler.  Offering impressive initial stability for its width, even novice paddlers will find that the Mist provides a smooth, dry and stable ride. Rudder

Atlantis Spartan 

Fast, responsive skeg boat for touring, surfing, current or rough conditions - one of the favourites of experience paddlers. Skeg

Norse Idun

Norse Idun is ideal for small or mid-sized paddlers. It is a very playful kayak that does not fear the tough sea. With its hard chine and shorter length, you have full control. The lightweight V-shaped hull makes it easy to maintain speed and the course stability. Day hatch behind the cockpit and a small hatch for storage just in front of the cockpit. Skeg

Norse Bylgja

Larger cousin of the Norse Idun is ideal for mid-sized paddlers. It is a very playful kayak that does not fear the tough sea. With its hard chine and shorter length, you have full control. The lightweight V-shaped hull makes it easy to maintain speed and the course stability. Day hatch behind the cockpit and a small hatch for storage just in front of the cockpit. Skeg

Norse Embla

Norse Embla is ideal for small to mid-sized paddlers. An excellent kayak for day adventures or short camping trips. Its double-chined hull makes a nice contrast to the Norse Idun and Bylgja kayaks. It has crisp handling characteristics that will help beginners but also be fun for experienced paddlers who want a responsive and agile sea kayak. Skeg

P&H Cetus (MV)

The ultimate expedition kayak, the Cetus features a shallow 'V' hull and large, rounded chines smoothly transitioning in to a slender bow and stern, allowing it to track well and cover distance comfortably, but also swing around nimbly on edge, all whilst being remarkably stable no matter what the ocean throws at you. A favourite amongst experienced paddlers. For smaller to mid sized paddlers.Skeg

P&H Cetus (HV)

Seaward Cosma Grande

The Cosma's fine entry, moderate rocker, 23" beam and shallow `Vee' multi-chined hull makes this a stable and seaworthy light touring and day boat. The multiple chines create a superb platform for edging and secondary stability. It is ideally suited to a paddler weighing less than 180lbs. Slightly larger cockpit makes entry and exit a little easier. Suitable for small paddlers. Rudder

Seaward Chilco

Arguably the fastest kayak in our fleet.  The Chilco has a multi-chined, low-rocker hull for high speed and effortless tracking. Well-defined chines allow the kayak to have a relatively small wetted surface and solid stability for edging turns. Solid day trip/touring boat for the advanced paddler. Rudder

Seaward Luna

The Luna provides paddlers under 180 lbs with a comfortable fit. It has good initial and secondary stability and handles adverse sea conditions very well. This kayak is at home on day trips, yet has enough storage space for multi-day expeditions. The Luna's slightly rockered hull enhances maneuverability ensuring long term enjoyment of this versatile craft. Rudder

Seaward Quantum

The Quantum is a Traditional Brit style kayak with Seaward's seasoned flair for innovation and design. The Quantum features a multi-chined hull, low back deck (ideal for rolling), Greenland style bow, and a skeg. Feels a little unstable when you first hop but very stable once you're moving along! Skeg

Seaward Tyee

The Tyee has an upswept bow, incredible stability and a high cargo capacity.  It is one of the most sought after kayaks by tour operators. Rudder

Seaward Tyee XLC

The ideal kayak for the taller paddler.  The Tyee XLC’s longer and wider cockpit allow for easy entry and exit.  This kayak has generous storage capacity for multi-day trips. Rudder

Valley Avocet

Amazingly versatile, and particularly popular with paddlers who enjoy tidal races and surf.  Ideally suited to smaller paddlers, the Avocet is compact without compromising performance.  Also a playful and fun day boat for the average sized paddler.  This kayak is best suited to experienced paddlers. Skeg

Double Kayaks

Atlantis Talon - Double

The is a double kayak designed to outperform all rivals in it's class, the Talon is sleek, fast, lightweight and ultra durable. Limited storage because it does not have a centre cockpit.  Rudder

Seaward Passat G3 - Double

Large and stable double. The Passat G3 has greater stability than singles. It tracks well, with or without the rudder and effortlessly tours at 5 knots. It is safe, strong and seaworthy even in challenging waters. Has a centre cockpit for a kids seat or storage. Great for extended overnight trips.  Rudder
