All new members of the kayak fleet are required to take a lesson, or demonstrate their existing skills in a Kayak Checkout, before they can sign out club boats.
This checkout is for experienced paddlers who can demonstrate a competent solo recovery with a paddle float, an assisted rescue, and a floating launch and land. If you don't already have these skills, please sign up for one of our lessons instead.
Be prepared to wear a face mask while demonstrating an assisted rescue.
