Beginner Windsurfing Lessons - Registration/Howto

Our 6 hour introductory course consists of two 3 hours sessions.It is provided by Windsure Adventure Watersports, our neighbour at the Jericho Sailing Centre.

The cost is $130 (plus booking fee and taxes: $144.30) total per person for both sessions. This is a nearly 50% rebate compared to the regular price for 6 hours of professional instruction. You must be a Locarno windsurfing member to sign up.

1. Register for this event. You will receive an email with a coupon code.
2. Do not share this coupon code with others. This is important.
   
3. Go to the booking site of Windsure: https://www.windsure.com/
   
4. You will register for Discover Wind I and Discover Wind II.
5. The coupon makes Discover Wind II free (but you must also book Discover Wind I).
6. You can schedule your first and second lesson independently and as you like.
   
7. You must bring your Jericho members card to the lesson as proof of membership.
8. You are required to provide your own Wetsuit, or you can rent a wetsuit. WIndsure and Mac Sailing both rent wetsuits.
9. Because we are getting a good deal, Windsure may have to reschedule your lesson if they can't fill a class. Please keep an eye on your inbox.
   

You will receive both on land and on water instruction. Skills taught include understanding the wind (points of sail), how to launch and land safely, basic maneuvers (tack) and how to self rescue. You will also be taught the correct handling of the gear including how to safely carry, clean and store the boards and sails.

After you have completed your lessons you must do a Level 1 checkout so we can show you the gear checkout procedures. You can contact the windsurfing director or a fleet captain to see if this can be scheduled on one of your lesson days. We want to get you out on the water as soon as possible. :-)
