Work Party - Canopy & Rack Move

Volunteers needed. We plan to move our neighbours' canopy and rack to make space for a new covered rack for Club Locarno equipment. 

The canopy & rack to be moved is the one at the south end of the windsurfing can. We'll shift it southwards about four feet. This should give us just over twelve feet for a new Club Locarno rack & canopy tucked in right behind the windsurfer can, up against the back of the windsurfer sail shed.

The plan is to give a new home to the surfskis, a couple of SUPs and a windsurfer board and double kayaks. We will remove the old iron rack which currently house the surfskis. This will also give Club Locarno and our neighbours a larger staging area to setup and clean boats.

We will:

• carefully remove all boats from the existing rack and store them safely
• carefully pull out the canopy
• move the existing rack and level it
• return the canopy and re-anchor
• reposition the rack and level it
• carefully restore the boats to their racks. 
  
• serve pizza

We estimate approx. 3hrs of effort. 

Weather permitting - if it's very miserable we will postpone.

We'll install the new Club Locarno canopy and build a new rack at a later date.
