Kayak Checkout: Jericho Beach Winter Winter Kayakers

All new members of the kayak fleet are required to undertake a Kayak Checkout, before they can sign out club boats.

This checkout is specifically for Jericho Beach Winter Kayak Members who can demonstrate they have the following basic kayak skills:

• wet exit
• a competent solo recovery with a paddle float, 
• an assisted rescue 
• as well as a floating launch and land.  

If you don't have proof of these skill (suitable Paddle Canada kayak course or validation from JBK) this checkout is not for you. 

This checkout is a dry land checkout and will introduce JBK Winter Members to:

• Club Locarno
• Kayak sign out and in protocols
• Answer any questions about kayaking at Club Locarno.

Checkout will take approximately 1hr and is a great way to meet other new members of the Club Locarno Kayak Fleet.
