Trip Planning Clinic lead by Mike Gilbert, Past President Paddle Canada.
This session will have an emphasis on the practical application of information you need to successfully plan a trip.
Six hours or instruction and examples. Course Cost: $40. This is a dry land clinic and will be held in the JSCA Member Lounge.
What to bring:
Bring one or two of your favourite charts or one you plan on using for a trip this year (Mike will also bring some of his own examples).
Bring pens, pencils and note paper for making any notes.
Lastly, bring yourself. Please be prompt for a 9am start, there is a lot of material to cover.
Mike Gilbert was born and raised paddling boats and canoes in Eastern Canada during his summers. It was only after moving to Canada’s west coast that he took up the double bladed paddle and instantly fell in love with kayaking. A graduate of Queen's University, Ontario, Mike currently lives in Richmond, BC.
Mike is a Level-2 Instructor/Trainer, Level-3 Instructor and certified Level-4 skills. He is also a PaddleSmart Presenter/Trainer, a registered VHF Radios and IT in Paddle Canada's Camping Program. Mike is owner operator of BC Kayak Centre which provides courses, clinics, classes and guided tours nationally and internationally.
