Annual Rowing Planning (Zoom)

Planning ahead is crucial—unless you're a fly, in which case, you’re just winging it.

No, this is not deja vu .... we're rescheduling the meeting to January because the December meeting was, let's just say, "under attended".

Anyhow, let's have a(nother) Zoom Meeting to suss out how you'd like the fleet to look, feel, and run next season. This is also your chance to air grievances, shower others with praise, shower yourself in praise, compare blisters, whatnot.

Agenda

1. Introduction: Director, Fleet Captains. Kevin Melanson will be stepping down, so there's an exciting opening for you to consider; unless you're Kevin. It's simple, educational, and fun!!
   1. The position comprises mainly Checkouts but occasional "fixit" moments keep things spicy. What's more - well, actually, less - the base Locarno and fleet membership fees are waived. That's a total of $320 clams!!
      
   2. I'll provide more detail about the duties, but just think of the Prestige and Respect you'll gain; people will Salute and Tremble in your Presence; no one will dare kick sand at You. You will gain Wisdom and Gravitas!!
      
2. Last Season's Brief: fleet use, fleet condition, lessons, and clinics.
3. Your feedback about the last season. A chance to offer plaudits, air beefs, or just "meh" it.
   
4. The Plan for 2025.
   1. New craft?
   2. Craft retirement(s)?
      
   3. Equipment: additions/subtractions? Oars, covers, trolleys, PFDs?
      
   4. Tools and Storage. Improving one and making more of the other?
      
   5. Lessons. Any changes to content, presentation, duration?
      
   6. Checkouts. Any improvements to content, scheduling?
   7. Clinics: Apart from our on-water safety and self-rescue, any others?
      
   8. Maintenance, a.k.a., Improving Fleet Hygiene. Think of it as flossing and brushing: we gotta do more of both. How? Here are some ideas: improve signage; offer dryland racking/unracking/ inspection/ launching/landing "refresher" clinics. Bring your outside-the-box musings, such as this one: elect a Board of Anti-Delinquentism (The BAD) to police, shame and punish transgressors.
   9. Social Events. E.g., social rows? Others?
5. Volunteering. How to increase volunteer engagement for small repairs/replacements?
   
6. Any other business.
