Fall Work Party - Rowing Fleet

As part of wrapping-up the 2026 Rowing Season, we're proud to announce the 37th Annual Fall "Work" Party! Yes, you read that right: 37th! Time flies like an arrow, don't it? And fruit flies like a banana, fer sure. (<= Just love that one!)

We've perfected our operation ever-so much over the years, it's a wonder to see! Indeed, we've come a long ways, much like the vastly improved Formula 1 pitstops (my apologies for any YouTube ads). Look at the fella banging away at the front left tire ... well, in them Good Ole Days, that's how we'd change out a rigger arm. Nowadays, we have much more ... ahem ... "refined" techniques.

So, come out to see, learn, and practice these new-fangled techniques: you won't regret it! Also, this is one of the best ways of filling your Club Locarno Karma Jar. These boats work hard to keep us on the right side of the water, so let's give them some TLC to show our appreciation.

Here's what's up:

• Cleaning boats: Echos (8), Literaces (3), Maas Aeros (2), the all(most)-new Swift C1, and, last but not least, the doughty Alden. Weather permitting, we'll also wax.
• Cleaning locks, oars, tightening screws, and taking note of wear and required fixes.
• Sharing tall tales of rowing progress and prowess learned and earned this season.
• Finding out what worked, what didn't, and what might be fun to try next time you're out on the water.
• Laughing uproariously at Management's efforts to look busy while barking orders and foisting one-liners on a captive audience.

So hit that Register button: with a total of 15 boats we need at least 15 volunteers, excluding "Managers", as they are in a "category of their own".
