Level 1 SUP Checkout
This is mandatory for ALL members wishing to use the SUP fleet who have not already completed a Club Locarno SUP checkout.
Please come 10 minutes early ready to go with wet suit/swim gear on!
Checkout starts on time.
Be prepared to have fun and get wet - everyone must complete a mandatory self-rescue :) No prior SUP experience is required for the level 1 checkout.
*Wetsuits suggested for cooler spring weather. *Please bring your Jericho/Club ID.
This free one-hour checkout is all members need to start paddling our SUP boards.
Checkouts primarily cover board care (e.g. boards should never be put down on hard ground, and must never be beached - step off the board well before hitting the beach). You will also need to show you can rescue yourself if you fall in the water (just climb back onto the board).
No prior experience is required for the level 1 checkout. Please find more info on what we will be covered: https://www.clublocarno.com/SUP-Checkout-Level-1
Inflatable SUPs must be rented in order to use them as a day rental or on overnight trips. A board can be rented for up to four days, and rentals are limited to two inflatables per member. You take full responsibility for loss and damage when you rent gear from the club. More details on rentals can be found here.
Rentals are on a first-come, first served basis according to registration date. Lessons and other club events have priority over rentals, so please check the calendar for scheduled lessons when planning your trip. Boards cannot be removed from Jericho ahead of time so you should plan on picking up the inflatable SUP(s) either at dusk of the evening prior to rental or early morning on the day of the rental.
When you pickup your rental SUP, you must sign out the boat under "Trip" on the Craft Signout including the date and estimated time of return.
You will need to enter a rental code (emailed to you) to complete this booking process online.
